What We Believe

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT GOD

We believe that there is one living and true God who has eternally existed and who has revealed himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and who is worthy of all possible honor, worship, and praise.  He is Creator, Redeemer, and Ruler of Heaven and earth.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:22; 1 Corinthians 13:14

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the full humanity and deity of Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, sinless life, his miracles, death on the cross for our sins, bodily ressurection, and ascension, present ministry of intercession for believers and his personal and visible return to power and glory.

Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit who regenerates unbelievers, the evidence of which is repentance, faith, and newness of life; and indwells believers enabling them to live a godly life, transforming them into the likeness of Christ and keeping them by the power of God until the day of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired Word of God. As such, it is truth without any mixture of error and is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.

2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

 WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT MAN

We believe that man was created in the image of God and was intended to have fellowship with God. However, since Adam, all men are sinners by nature and by choice, and are under the just condemnation of the one holy and righteous God.

Genesis 1:27; Psalms 8:3-6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT SALVATION

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, who is the only and all sufficient Savior and only Mediator between God and man; and that the gospel of this salvation should be made known to the world.

WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT THE CHURCH

We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ and it is a group of baptized believers associating by covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel. The two ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord's Supper. While recognizing the value of associating and cooperating with other groups of Christians, we believe that the local church should be independent, self-governing, and free from any denominational control.

Matthew 16:18, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Hebrews 10:25; Colossians 1:18
